Chevy Kicks Off 100th Anniversary with a Woodward-Bound Parade

Chevy hasn't been shy about turning 100, this year. As such, you've likely read something about the festivities. There are many. The most recent effort to commemorate the company's 100-year history, however, was a parade that started with a vintage Dream Cruise roar of classic engines and then a moment of almost eerie silence.

Joining the posy of classic Chevrolet models (i.e., the 1944 Chevrolet Chevelle SS and 1955 Chevy Bel Air), parading down Woodward Avenue, Detroit, MI, was a fleet of nearly 50 ninja-quiet, Volts EVs. There were even a handful of imminent and prospective…

New Chevrolet Orlando Available in Canada

The Chevrolet Orlando is headed to Canada, but still won't see an American dealer. General Motor's decision to keep the European-style Orlando out of US dealerships might be due to the Chevrolet Equinox available at Mills Chevrolet - 1610 39th Ave in Moline, IL, which is similar to Orlando.

Canadian audiences should get in line to check out this great new vehicle from Chevrolet. Available for a short time already in Europe, Orlando's small frame is misleading. You can fit a lot of French bread loaves and bags of pasta in the compartments of this crossover.

And it…

It’s True…The Chevy Cruze Diesel is Coming!

Mills Chevrolet can finally confirm that a diesel-powered Chevy Curze is coming to the U.S.   Since the beginning of the year there has been a lot of buzz and whisperings but until recently there was no definite answer.

In a recent interview with USA TodayDan Akerson, CEO, GM (the parent company of Chevrolet) announced that in 2013 a diesel-powered Chevrolet Cruze would be available for sale within the U.S. Particularly impressed with how quiet the new Chevy Cruze Diesel drives, Akerson said, "I drove it the other day. It was great."1

So what are the benefits…

Who wouldn’t want a giant edible Chevrolet Camaro?

Chevrolet, recently asked Cake Boss's Chef Buddy Valestro to make a life size Camaro cake.  Weighing in at 2,000 lb. pounds, replicating the new Chevrolet Camaro (featured in Transformers: Dark of the Moon, out July 1) was no small feat.  However, for those who have seen Cake Boss you know Buddy is always up for a challenge.

Of course, curious minds want to know: Can you eat it? Yes, but you'd have to be aware of the moving wings, lights and pyrotechnics...you wouldn't want to chip a tooth or worse yet, burn off your eyebrows…

Lean and Green: The 2012 Chevrolet Sonic

Over the past couple of years, Chevrolet has been redefining their brand, manufacturing smaller, more efficient vehicles rather than gas-guzzling trucks and SUVs. The first small car to hit showroom floors, evidencing their efforts to re-brand their identity was the Cruze in 2010. And, the overhaul continues today with the 2012 Chevrolet Sonic.

The all-new Chevy Sonic subcompact is expected to be available in the form of both a four-door sedan and five-door hatchback. It will be the one and only subcompact produced in America. Specifically, it will be run on the production line at GM's Orion plant in…

Chevrolet Impala Going Luxury

The classic Chevrolet Impala is finally scheduled for a design change. And this time, it's going to be something special. The 2014 Impala is expected to move "upmarket" in price, features and will even become the flagship of Chevrolet's lineup. The car will offer more standard equipment than the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu.1

Ready for the 2014 model year, this Chevrolet Impala will share its platform with the Cadillac XTS sedan, a re-engineered front-wheel-drive Epsilon platform. In other words, Impala is going from utilitarian to luxury.

Chevrolet Impala is also going to add jobs to GM facilities. The…
