Everyone knows big things can come in small packages. But with the brand-new, award-winning 2012 Chevrolet Sonic, safe things can come in small packages too. The Sonic was recently named Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's Top Safety Pick, earning A-plus scores for Frontal Offset, Side Impact and Roof Strength tests. Talk about some pretty great grades!

Chevrolet Raises Green for Pink

In honor of national Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Chevrolet is partnering with the American Cancer Society to pull in some major green for the pink. Last month, the automaker raced a bright pink Camaro SS pace car in both the Atlanta Motor Speedway challenge and the Richmond International Raceway event and made a $200 donation for each caution lap it ran. Though Chevy contributed nearly $30,000 to the American Cancer Society through this effort alone, the automaker is not stopping there.

Chevrolet Unveils the 2012 Camaro ZL1

Chevrolet recently unveiled its new top-of-the-line model for its quintessential sports car, the Camaro, at the Chicago Auto Show. The forthcoming 2012 Camaro ZL1, complete with a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that boasts an estimated 550 horsepower (hp) and 550 lb.-ft. of torque, will compete directly with the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, whose current 5.4-liter V8 offers an equal amount of hp, but 40 lb.-ft. less torque.

Before earning the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's (IIHS) title of "safe" vehicles must prove their superiority by passing a series of rigorous high-speed crash assessments. These include: assessments of the front, sides, and rear; a roof strength test; and scrutiny of seat/head restraints. And we'll be the first to tell you, earning such a designation from the IIHS is no walk in the park.
