Before earning the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's (IIHS) title of "safe" vehicles must prove their superiority by passing a series of rigorous
high-speed crash assessments. These include: assessments of the front,
sides, and rear; a roof strength test; and scrutiny of seat/head
restraints. And we'll be the first to tell you, earning such a designation from the IIHS is no walk in the park.
In a perfect world, all midsize vehicles would be created with equal amounts of safety in mind. Unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect world. However, there is one midsize vehicle that that stands above most all of its competitors in terms of safety. And it's non other than the 2011 Chevrolet Malibu. After passing the rigorous series of high-speed crash assessments, the vehicle was named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
At Mills Chevrolet, we're happy to report that the 2011 Chevrolet Malibu received A+ scores across the board. And, more than ultimate crash protection, the midsize car offers a galleria of features designed to prevent accidents from ever happening. These include: driver and passenger side airbags, ABS, traction control, and stability control, OnStar service with Automatic Crash Response (complimentary for the first six months of ownership), tire pressure monitor, and an advanced crush front body structure.
